Dr. Aisha Ahmad is an Assistant Professor at the Shaikh Ahmad Hasan School of Law at LUMS. Her research looks at land and urban governance in Pakistan, human rights theory and practice in a multipolar world, and Marxist legal theory in/from the global south. She is interested in interdisciplinary approaches to law, law and development, and law and political economy (LPE). Aisha has previously taught courses at LUMS and the University of Oxford relating to law and urban governance, legal reasoning, and core theories and issues in development studies. She recently completed her PhD from the Department of International Development at the University of Oxford. Before this, Dr. Ahmad obtained an MPhil in Development Studies at the University of Oxford, an LLM at Harvard Law School, and a BA/LLB from LUMS.
