DESCRIPTION:
A dispute between the partners of a marketing research company run by graduates of a business school had come to a point where the partners found it impossible to work amicably together. The dispute was brought to Tariq Hanif who was appointed as the arbitrator. There were various options available to the partners. A buy out of one party by the other seemed a likely option. The students can be asked to suggest ways of valuing this firm.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
The case can be used in the typical class teaching fashion representing the two parties and the arbitrator to arrive at a solution to the rapidly deteriorating situation between the partners. If the situation is not resolved at once the firm may go bankrupt.
