DESCRIPTION:

This research examines perceptions of working women and men about gender bias against both genders in the work environment, through several in-depth interviews and 155 quantitative survey of working women and men. Gender discrimination at work can take several forms, including sex segregation, and gender driven differences in promotion, authority, respect, earnings, and benefits including training. The results of our study, though the sample is small, indicate that gender discrimination at work may be more than just rhetoric for a number of women in Pakistan. The paper also gives recommendations to address gender discrimination at work.
