To accelerate economic activity and enhance economic growth, predominantly developing countries promote SEZs as a strategy to develop the industry. The fact that these zones are continually growing the world over is the evidence that these strategies are working for various countries and regions. (Farole 2010) and (UNIDO 2015). Pakistan has also announced several SEZs under its flagship CPEC project with China, to support its strategy for economic growth linked with this corridor. This paper discusses the SEZs, which have been planned under CPEC, and focuses on the advantages that these SEZs enjoy with respect to their location and the proximity to the various resources that they have, connectivity to the infrastructure, etc. This would be done to identify the potential for various industries based on the natural endowment of the regional environment of these respective SEZs.
