The demand for fruit juices is estimated at 108,732 tonnes in 1987-88. Karachi would be the major market constituting 47% of the demand. Lahore would constitute 38% of the demand. For setting up a fruit juice plant_ the fixed capital expenditure is estimated to be PKR 41.08 million including working capital of PKR 9.58 million. The production capacity of the plant is estimated to be 10 million litres of fruit juices per month and about 1500. tonnes of concentrate per annum. The pay-back period is estimated to be 3 years.
