DESCRIPTION:
Fountain House was a project of the Lahore Mental Health Association (LMHA), an NGO formed in 1962, with the objective of mobilizing resources for the promotion of mental health in the country. The Executive Director of this institution is faced with a dilemma about fundraising and community participation in the project. The case investigates how these challenges are met as well as the contribution Fountain House has made to the mental health community of Pakistan.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1) To enable students to develop a comprehensive plan for improving financial sustainibility and increasing public awareness for the mission and activities of Fountain House, an Ngo dedicated to the rehabilitation of mainly schizophrenic patients. 2) To understand various facets of marketing in the context of non-profit organizations. 3) To sensitize students of the challenges faced by organizations working in the social sector.
