The Packages TFC case is about the first publicly floated and traded corporate debt instrument in Pakistan. Fakir Syed Aijazuddin, CEO of First International Investment Bank, had to reflect on how the debt market could be developed. He also had to analyze the structure of future debt instruments, with regard to tenor, pricing, structure and security.


LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

The Packages TFC issues marked the first publicly traded corporate debt instrument in Pakistan. It is therefor useful as a starting point to introduce the students to contemporary developments in Pakistan's debt market and the to discuss: 1) The scope of the corporate dept market and how it can be developed within the limitations on its development. 2) At the specific level, students can be expected to analyse the structure of a debt instrument; with regard to tenor, pricing, structure and security.
